For those of you feeling in the dark, here's a summary offered by Doug Winner, a member of TAFAC (The Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council) regarding the recent sanction. "The AI business model is commercial marketing of educational materials and educational programs. They see the Appraisal Foundation as cutting into their business and attempted to get congress to redefine the role of the AF, limiting their educational mission. They were sanctioned for these efforts as well as their USPAP program not being consistent with the Appraisal Standards Board USPAP publications and directives."
